It all began the summer after high school when my future wife, Kelsie, reached out for help with a colt she was training. I lent a hand, and it wasn't long before sparks flew—both in the arena and between us. After three years of dating, we tied the knot on August 25, 2018.
Just weeks before our wedding, I was in Douglas, Wyoming, completing my Master Certification at Ken McNabb Horsemanship. During this program, I received an offer to work for Ken in Wyoming. I called Kelsie, and without hesitation, she agreed to marry me as soon as I returned, and we moved 1,500 miles north. We spent a brief honeymoon in San Antonio, TX, then headed to Wyoming. There, we embraced the rugged life of training horses, starting colts, honing our cattleman skills, and enjoying the great outdoors.
Two years later, we felt a calling to return to the Texas Hill Country in Henly, TX. Shortly after moving back, we discovered we were expecting our daughter, Madilyn Mae Stewart. Back in Texas, I managed a high fence game ranch and trained horses on the side, enriching our lives and fulfilling my role as a first-time manager and father.
Owning a horse training business has always been a dream for Kelsie and I. Our relationship and life together have been shaped by our shared passion for horses and the challenges and triumphs that come with mastering horsemanship.
My roots run deep in Marble Falls, TX, where my parents now own land that my great-grandfather originally purchased. I spent my childhood here, hunting and learning about cattle ranching from my father and great-grandfather, who lived into his mid-90s. When my parents offered us a piece of this land to build on, Kelsie and I seized the chance to establish Stewart Ridge Ranch Horses.
Thank you for letting us share our story. We hope to welcome you to our ranch soon!
